Pontypool

Meet the cast and crew

As strange reports of riots and babbling crowds come in, washed up radio DJ Grant Mazzy and his team realise their town is falling victim to a horrific epidemic.

A suspenseful drama that unfolds entirely within the claustrophobic radio station, forcing the characters to confront the terrifying power of language itself as they try to make sense of the chaos unfolding outside…

The people behind the scenes…

Director - Katie Hughes

As a child, I always loved Halloween. My birthday falls during spooky season, meaning this time of year usually involved dressing up, rewatching the Addams Family, or reading The Worst Witch for the hundredth time.

This love of all things spooky has continued into my adult life, so I’m really excited to present Pontypool, a horror on stage.

I first came across Pontypool when I was at University, and it immediately stuck with me. The combination of words communicating more than just ideas, what’s not visible showing you far more than you can see certainly makes this a memorable show. Working on this production has allowed me to experiment with staging, and is certainly the most technically ambitious show I’ve been part of in a long time. Although we’ve made a few tweaks from the original script (and ignored a few stage directions along the way), I’m sure you’ll appreciate the work that’s gone into bringing this show to life.

Welcome to Pontypool…
